When Jyoti Tamang first came to Marybert Hostel, she was a young child with dreams but limited opportunities. Through the support of MySmallHelp and the care provided at Marybert Hostel, she found a safe home, a quality education, and the encouragement to believe in herself.

Jyoti lived at the hostel for more than 12 years, growing up alongside other children who, like her, came from disadvantaged backgrounds. During this time, MySmallHelp supported her education, personal development, and wellbeing, giving her the foundation she needed to build a brighter future.

After successfully completing her Grade 12 education, Jyoti chose to become a teacher—a profession through which she could make a lasting difference in the lives of children. She began her career at St. Mary’s School in Gorkha, where she taught for three years, gaining valuable experience and confidence in the classroom.

Today, Jyoti has returned to Kathmandu and is a Grade Teacher at Don Bosco School, Lalitpur, one of the city’s well-respected schools. Every day, she helps young learners grow academically and personally, just as others once helped her.

Jyoti’s story is a powerful reminder of what long-term support can achieve. A child who once depended on the kindness of sponsors has become an independent professional, shaping the future of the next generation through education.
