Marybert School Project – Phase 4

Marybert School (www.marybertschool.edu.np) is a social enterprise school established in 2002 by Sabina Thapa and her family. Since 2007, MySmallHelp charity has been working closely with Sabina, sharing her vision of providing quality education to poor and underprivileged children in the Lalitpur area. Together, we have partnered to improve school facilities and share the responsibility of managing the school, as we strongly believe in the positive impact that quality education brings to children and their families.

We are happy to share that Phase 4 of Marybert School’s renovation has been successfully completed! The work started on 13th January 2025 and finished on 26th June 2025.

In this phase, we gave our school a big upgrade. The ground floor now has new classrooms, a welcoming lobby, spacious passages, and improved offices. We also built a multi-purpose hall for programs and activities, upgraded the kitchen for pre-primary children, new teacher’s room, and added bright murals and an aquarium to make learning more fun.

Along with this, the floors, walls, and corridors were beautifully renovated, safety railings were installed, and new furniture was added to make the school more organized and child-friendly.

This project was possible with the support of our generous donors and a small contribution from the school. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make Marybert School a better place for our children to learn and grow.

Here are the key improvements:

Structural & Foundational Work

We cleared old debris, removed unnecessary walls, and reinforced the ground slab to make the base stronger and safer.

Flooring

Tiling was done across the ground and first-floor corridors, classrooms, teachers’ room, computer lab, lobby, and school entrance, giving a fresh look.

New Pre-Primary Classroom & Functional Areas

Three new pre-primary classrooms were built with proper partitions and doors. A mid-sized multi-purpose hall with stage, podium, AC, projector, and new flooring was also completed.

Created New Admin/Account Room

A dedicated Admin and Account room has been created to improve communication and interaction between the school staff and parents. This new facility ensures smoother administrative processes and provides a more organized space for managing school operations efficiently.

Painting & Finishing

Fresh painting was carried out in ground floor and classrooms, computer lab, corridors, principal’s office, and admin/account room to brighten up the school atmosphere.

Safety & Aesthetic Enhancements

Steel stair railings were installed for student safety. Large iron flower pots, flag stands, and granite bases for glass doors were added for a welcoming look.

Installations

New glass partitions and doors were installed, including framed and frameless designs for the entrance and principal’s office.

Custom Furniture

We designed and built new desks for the principal’s office, reception, and accounts room, along with storage cupboards for better organization. We also created 5 new desk and benches for grade 7.

Iron Flower Pots

We added all together 14 iron flower pots inside and outside the school to make the environment greener and more welcoming, while also protecting the premises.

Footpath Tiling

The tiling on the footpath side of the school has been completed, giving students and parents a cleaner, safer pathway.

Pre-Primary Kitchen

A new kitchen was built especially for pre-primary children so they can enjoy healthy meals in a safe and clean space.

Aquarium

An aquarium was placed at the pre-primary kitchen window, creating a lively and engaging corner for young learners.

Heavy Duty Printer

A new printer was purchased to support the growing administrative and educational needs of the school. Thanks to Friends For Global Change., USA
