Educational Sponsorship- Simon

MySmallHelp is thrilled to continue supporting Simon in his second year of the Bachelor of Business Studies program! This four-year course equips students with valuable business skills, and we’re proud to help him reach his full potential.

While Simon might consider himself an average student, his dedication is evident in his work as a computer teacher at Marybert School, the children’s home where he grew up. Giving back to his community while pursuing his own education demonstrates a well-rounded and caring character.

We at MySmallHelp admire Simon’s commitment and wish him all the best in his studies and his role at Marybert School! Simon and Rebika are brother and sister.

Update on Shree Mangaladevi Basic School, Dhrumthali, Sindhupalchok, Nepal

This school was basically started from scratch by our very generous and thoughtful trustee Lee Forsyth. It is almost 15 years since we first visited this school where classes used to be like cattle shed. Very few children and 1 teacher used to be there. But now the whole scenario is completely different. After we managed to purchase a piece of land and build 4 classrooms and two toilet blocks, it has made immense impact to the whole community.

Now the kids do not have to walk 4 hours a day just to and fro school and home. Now the school is running at its full capacity with a proper number of teachers provided by the government, it has a good library and computer lab in functioning. Now a number of children has grown from 42 to 97. Even the school has been upgraded from primary to basic school meaning it was only up till 5 grade but now up to 8 grade. MSH has been in close contact since we first began working and has been supporting as and when there been need.

This school was built before the massive 2015 earthquake while with stood with only minor damages while most schools in Sindhupalchok was fully collapsed. So the building we built was structurally strong enough.

On one of the visits to school with our friend Deb Priestley, the school requested for few needs like an automatic electric school bell, annual stationery for needy kids and an electric hot water jar. In one of our recent trips with Lee and his daughter Charlotte, we managed to deliver their request. Lee was amazed by the progress made since his last visit 14 years back.

Brighter Days at Marybert Children’s Home!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Aaron, Charlotte from the UK, and all our wonderful supporters, Marybert Children’s Home has undergone a heartwarming transformation! The dormitories have received a much-needed refresh, with fresh paint brightening the walls and cozy carpets adding warmth underfoot.

In addition, new cupboards have been installed, providing much-needed storage space for the children’s belongings. Additionally, existing cupboards have been repaired, ensuring everything functions smoothly. This project creates a more comfortable and organized living environment for the children at Marybert Children’s Home.

We are incredibly grateful to Aaron, Charlotte, and all our supporters for making this positive change possible. Their kindness directly impacts the well-being of the children at Marybert!
